Warranty Coverage
Nationwide Iron Works guarantees that all iron doors sold will be free from defects in material and craftsmanship for a one-year period from the date of purchase (not the installation date).
Important Notes on Installation & Warranty Coverage
- Doors are sold only with the frames they were built on, and proper closure and reveal are checked before shipping.
- The most common issues with iron doors arise from improper installation, including misaligned frames, improper reveal, or clearance issues. These installation-related issues are not covered under this warranty.
- We strongly recommend hiring an experienced professional to install your iron door correctly.
- Any paint issues must be reported within 24 hours of delivery or pickup.
- Once a door is installed or an attempt to install is made, all sales are final, and Nationwide Ironworks will only provide replacement parts for covered defects.
Warranty Periods for Specific Components
- Doors: 1-year warranty for material and craftsmanship defects.
- Paint & Finish: No warranty applies after installation due to environmental exposure.
- Glass: Not covered after installation. Center glass seal is covered only if noted before installation.
- Handles & Hardware: Warranty applies through the manufacturer of the hardware.
What is Covered?
Nationwide Iron Works will provide a replacement part for any component that is deemed defective within one year from the date of sale. This applies regardless of who installs the door, unlike many iron door companies that void warranties for third-party installations.
What is Not Covered?
The following exclusions apply to this warranty:
- Improper installation issues, including misalignment, improper clearance, or poor frame leveling.
- Glass imperfections, scratches, or breakage after installation.
- Water damage or paint blistering due to water exposure, pressure washing, or improper sealing.
- Structural movement of the building affecting door alignment.
- Threshold water seepage due to wind-driven rain.
- Normal aging, wear & tear, or exposure to the elements.
- Finish variations from samples, color variations when purchasing multiple doors, or aging of faux finishes.
- Labor, installation, removal, or service callsβall labor-related costs are the responsibility of the purchaser and their installer.
- Local building code compliance, as regulations vary by location. The purchaser is responsible for ensuring the door meets all local codes.
- Sale items: All doors and products sold in the "Sales" section are sold as-is with no warranty.
Purchaser Responsibilities
- Inspect the door upon delivery or pickup. Any defects must be reported within 24 hours.
- Ensure correct installation, including verifying alignment of door hardware and strike plates.
- Perform minor touch-ups as needed, using Rust-Oleum flat or satin touch-up paint for scratches and touch-up bronzer (available upon request).
- Ensure proper weather protection, including overhangs for doors exposed to the elements.
Shipping & Damage Claims
- If shipping damage is visible, the buyer must refuse delivery and report the issue immediately.
- Once the shipment is accepted, any damage claims must be filed with the shipping company, not Nationwide Ironworks.
- If a defect is discovered after delivery, Nationwide Ironworks will provide replacement parts for covered issues but will not cover labor or service calls.
Warranty Limitations & Legal Terms
- This warranty is non-transferable and applies only to the original purchaser.
- Nationwide Iron Works is not responsible for any issues arising from third-party installers.
- In no event shall Nationwide Iron Works be liable for incidental, consequential, or indirect damages, including lost profits or additional costs incurred due to warranty claims.
- All disputes regarding this warranty shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the American Arbitration Association.
